Makeup brushes are a long-term investment. If you’ve splurged on brushes you know will last a while and won’t moult all over your face every time you use them, you’re going to want to take good care of them.
Here are our easy tips for caring for your makeup brushes.
- Buy a good quality makeup brush cleanser. Just like you, your makeup brushes need to be washed on a regular basis. This won’t just protect your brushes but will also protect your skin.
- Use just a small amount of cleanser and some warm water to wash your brushes. Use your fingers to gently clean the brushes, working up from the base.
- Let your brushes dry. This is an important step you shouldn’t skip under any circumstances. Reshape and smooth the bristles with your hands and then lie them flat on a towel to dry. Don’t put them away until they have dried completely.
- Store your brushes in a safe place. This may be a makeup brush bag with designated slots for each individual brush, or a makeup brush holder your brushes can stand up right in.
